a Message by Rev. Richard M. Schott
To better acquaint you with this strange and wonderful country, a country where there’ll never be tears, heartaches, no sickness, no pain, no death, those who live there will never get weary, carry no burdens, will never grow old, no one says goodbye for there will be none of life’s disappointments there.
In this country, you will find that there will be no sin, for no one does wrong. You can travel for thousands of miles and never see a cemetery or a funeral procession for there no one ever dies. Nothing ever spoils, flowers never lose their fragrance, leaves are always green, there are no thunderstorms, no erupting volcanoes, no earthquakes, upon those fair shores hurricanes and tidal waves never beat. It’s a land whose government has no corruption, no scam, no misappropriations, no illegal logging, no unsolved killings, for the Son of Righteousness is the Just Supreme Ruler. There are no death squads, there are no drug pushers, no prostitution, no strip clubs, no night clubs for there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth neither whatsoever worketh abomination or maketh a lie but they that are written in the Lamb’s book of life. There are no germs or fevers there, no pestilence of anykind. It is always light, for there will be no night there, no clouds to ever darken the skies, no harsh winds to ever blow. There are no drunkards in that city, for there no one ever drinks. None are immoral, men as well as women are pure. Prison, jails and reformatories never darken the landscapes, doors will have no locks, windows will have no bars for thieves and robbers never enter there. No lustful books are read, no sexy pictures are shown, no taxes paid, no rent collected. It is a country free from war and bloodshed. No cripples can be seen, none are deformed or lame, none is blind, deaf or dumb, for all are healthy and strong. No beggars are ever seen on the street, there is no one destitute, leprosy and cancer, palsy and tuberculosis, appendicitis and all those strange things that we hear today are never heard of in that country. There are no asylums there, for none are feebleminded. Doctors and nurses are never needed, hospitals are unknown. What country is this? It’s called Heaven. It is the eternal home of the saved, where God Himself shall be our God.
Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
We live in a troubled land, but Jesus, just before He went to the cross told His troubled disciples in John 14:1-6 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Paul made mention of this same thing in Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
I like what Paul told the church in Corinth. 2 Cor. 5-11 “Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
You know why we must be soul winners? Notice verse 11, “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men;…”
The Bible tells us in Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
All of these verses encourage us to come and trust Him NOW! Whatever we do, whoever we are, do not believe in a false hope. Believe what God says in His Book!
A preacher went to the post office, to get his mail. While he was there, a woman recognized the preacher and said, “You know preacher, people have come in from all over the country, from all directions, to get their mail. They’ve come in from different ways, there are some here from Ecoland that have used the Bolton bridge, others have come in from Maa and Matina Crossing via the Bankerohan bridge, even there are some here that came from Buhangin and SASA, they all came in from different roads and places to get here but they all got here at the same post office. Preacher, what do you think? Isn’t this like heaven? Because all roads lead to Heaven when die.” The preacher thought for a minute and said, “Well, first of all, Heaven is not the post office, and when we die, we don’t go to the post office.”
So remember my friend! When you die you are going to go to your eternal home and it’s up to you whether you make it Heaven or whether by your rejection of Jesus Christ, by your not accepting His way, you go to the other place called Hell. May we do that which God would have us to do.
You say, “Well, I don’t know if Jesus would save me or not.” The Bible says in John 6:37 “…and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”
CLOSING PRAYER: Our Heavenly Father, speak to our hearts today. May there be people that come to Christ as their personal Saviour. How wonderful it is to know that we have a home in Heaven. How wonderful to know that beyond the river of death, we have a mansion waiting for us prepared by none other than Jesus Christ Himself. Father, what a place Heaven must be, how terrible it would be if any of us would miss it, that in itself be hell. But Oh God how we pray we may see people saved today and win their loved ones to Thee, for Jesus’ sake, Amen.
